The 2010YR Ministry in a Nutshell
This ministry encourages all Christians (whether they are regular church attendees or not) to develop spiritual relationships with and serve the spiritual need of those Christians that do not regularly attend church services. It encourages building mutual respect and working relationship between Christians that attend church regularly and those that do not.
While it may even be the expressed desire of the church attending Christian and this ministry for the un-churched Christian to eventually become churched, it is the primary aim of this ministry to love and work in an on going relationship with those that believe on Christ Jesus through life, even if they decide never to become a regular church attendee.
The relationships are kept spiritual in there aim but casual and personal in the true sense of a life long friendship based on Christian love.
The relationships are usually conducted through regular prayer for one another and a phone call once or twice a month. Participation in a weekly 2010YR event is encouraged, usually a very simple task design to develop spiritual closeness to the Lord Jesus Christ. On occasion they meet for a special event usually put on by a local church or one or more of the partner groups in a public setting.
Finally, the year 2010 and every tenth year increment thereafter is set aside as a year of celebration unto the Lord Jesus for those that have partnered in this ministry up to and during that year, which is referred to as the Year of Repentance (YR).
